I have always enjoyed good feedback and rapor with my customers which is the way I want to run my business, if there has been a problem or customer not satisfied then the issue is addressed straight away. I go to a lot of trouble to show and explain what the items are I’m selling so the customer can see what they’re spending their money on and will it be exactly what they require.

During the time I’ve been on ebay any neutral feedback I have found somewhat pathetic for example take this one “a bit disappointed because it’s just 2 pices of wire that i can make myself” ref product see the link below which are my baiting needles, go and take a look at the product and you will see from the image and details it’s very well displayed what you’re buying. If he could have made it himself then why did he buy it I ask ???

I can never understand why a customer would want to leave neutral or negative feedback nearly one month after the delivery of the item if they’re “Disapointed” when they can contact me straight away and return the item for a full refund. On looking at this customers feedback he appears to be critical of others too.

Another really annoying issue over feedback I also go to the trouble of pointing out If Not Sure On The Product ASK US so what more can I do to stop the customer not getting what they want and enjoying the product and it doing the job well.

This product is as explained and images show they’re two sizes of 1.6mm stainless steel wire bent to form a baiting needle, I contacted the customer and his explanation for leaving neutral feedback was rather crazy “He thought it he was getting something different” so why would I want to display an item and supply something different only he knows what he wants to buy and if what I’m selling is right for him.

The saying is you can’t please customers all of the time even if you do everything possible to achieve a happy customer and even offer a Money Back guarantee. The good thing now you can report buyers stupid non constructive feedback to ebay for them to review the issue and remove the poor feedback.

A previous neutral feedback on my skippy fish Scented Lures “These were supposed to be scented, did not anticipate aniseed” now explain that one to me !!! and he left it three times to all the skippy fish he purchased. As I replied to to his feedback “They are scented so what’s the problem. Best to ask if not sure before ordering” not really rocket science is it. Here endeth my Easter Rant

The well known www.deepsea.co.uk web site the source of finding and booking your boat fishing trips has gone to the next level in utilising the latest technology and social networking. You can use google maps or satellite to sort out were your nearest skippers are located and their details, blogs, websites etc.

You can also view their booking diaries to see when the best tides and dates are available for clubs, whole boat bookings, or jumping on board for a singles trip and meet up with some new angling buddies.

The site is new and is still undergoing development and as it’s being run by dedicated skippers for skippers and anglers you know the results will be to give up to date details for you go to sea when you have withdrawal symptoms and need a fishing fix.

Just had an email from a customer who wants to come and collect an order ” TO SAVE THE SHIPPING COSTS “ I asked him were he was coming from and was it just to collect an order, but please note I am mail order only BTW.

He said he was about three quarters of an hour away and yes it would be just to collect the order ” TO SAVE THE SHIPPING COSTS ” of course. Now the shipping incl packaging would be £3.65 sent 1st class mail Signed for so leave Monday arrive at his Tuesday.

Best of it is he can’t go fishing for two weeks due to weather and work, now estimating he drives an average mileage car and with current fuel costs plus the return journey at best I worked out his fuel costs alone would be 1 gallon/5ltrs each way about £14.00 plus you also have to add car costs, insurance, tax, wear and tear OH and his time of course !!!

BUT !! he will be saving £3.65 to get a good deal …. CLOWN … d:o) Moral of this tale is stop winging about shipping costs unless you can walk to your tackle store and they have what you want too.

I have released the next two Eco Lures using my formula of silicone rubber to create a very durable alternative to using PVC. The WobblyAss as the name implies the lure has a large heavy paddle tail and the main body tail is fluted to give the attractive wobble required to induce a take.

I have also built in a unique Rattle Vibe so not only does it make a rattle noise it also creates vibrations imparted to the lure from the jighead down to the tail, again adding more attraction to induce takes. There are also spare bodies available so in time to come when the existing body has been mullered by hungry Cod, Bass or Pollock the jighead can be replenished with a new body. What I will point out when re-using the jig heads is they can’t be re-used with the Rattler Vibes as they are part of the hook assembly when it’s first moulded.

The much larger and heavier FloppyAss shads are the other lures released. Large range of colours are available so you can choose exactly what you need for the days fishing. All the full details and design features are shown on the images so just enlarge the thumbs and you can study the design and workmanship that has gone into these lures.

As both these lures are only made to order please allow 5 working days for shipping and then the extra delivery times it will take to arrive ready for your fishing trip. It is planned to build stock once we know what colour combinations and sizes will be popular, once that happens then shipping within 48hrs will be the norm as our other products are.

This image will give you an example of a suggested rig using my heavyweight steel sea booms. Either sizes 6″ or 12″ will work with these lures and as the image shows, you just need to trim the rig with weights to suit tidal speeds and drift speed of the boat.

Fishing technique is the same for all shads on a sink and draw style so let the lure touch bottom and then wind up.

For Cod keep near the bottom so wind up 10 turns and drop again vary the wind speed start slow and then try different speeds. For Pollock and Bass you can come up higher and agin at different speeds. When you get a take Don’t Stop Winding just let the fish take the lure and they will hook themselves. Don’t forget for added attraction these eco lures accept my fishy rubs well so the added temptation should see your catch rate rocket.

The Super Heavyweight 350lb test are now available plus the Heavyweight 125lb test booms are also live in my ebay store. Details are in the images and they can be purchased either 1 boom to try out or in packs of 3 or 5 booms and obviously as many as you want.

There are two sites that suits pretty near all types of rig and lures I kept to 12″ for the main reason any longer isn’t really that practical especially with heavy lures or baits as the booms will bend in an upward direction so it effectively comes back closer to the shock leader. I am looking at going to 2mm stainless wire but again that has inherent problems in the fact that drag on thicker booms increases dramatically.

There is also the 6″ size which is very stiff at this length so worth considering this with heavy lures and baits. Selecting the right size is really down to the conditions on the day and as both booms are complete and just need a couple of knots to get them rigged it’s not too much of a job to change them, so it’s worth having both size in the tackle bag.
