The 1973 Record breaker Eddystone Eel

This is the daddy of them all the artificial lure that has taken 5 British record fish, Cod, Pollock, Bass, Coalfish and now in February this year 2012 a 7lb 6oz Whiting fell to an orange Eddystone eel.

It also holds a claim to fame taking 10 line class caught world records. The eel comes in a range of sizes and colours with the size 3 190mm being the eel that is the record breaker. See just how realistic this eel is and it’s loaded with super sharp hooks to get you firmly attached to the fish you’re after. The colours we currently stock are the two most popular and high catching designs, red and black being tops for Cod and Pollock and the blue white mackerel tops for Bass.

Play the video at full screen HD to catch all the detail and quality of these eels, we have also shown how best to set up your trace for the beginners.

Eddystone Eddy Jelly natural sand eel range

The latest video information on the Eddy Jelly is now live so you can see the complete product, range and some catch footage of the eels in action. Play it full screen at 1080p HD quality for all the fine details of these eels. You can buy them by the single lure with or without a trace added and in any combination of colours.

I use them often and have taken Bass, Cod and loads of Pollock on these quality weighted eels. Best colour well they all work well but as the Rhubarb and Custard is flavour of the year it has to be that one but be honest at 200ft on a wreck it’s pretty dark down there so the action and the way you fish the eels is more important.

Eddystone Eel 2012 has landed

I went to see the boys at Eddystone Eels today and have a chat with them about what is new for 2012 and had some hands on with the very latest Eddystone 2012 weighted eel and very impressive it is too.

Unique design that has been in development and testing for some time now and finally it has made full production and they will be here soon and now doubt I will be out beasting the bass and any other predatory fish that takes a fancy to them. More shortly as soon as I have stock to hit you with, you will be as impressed as I am when you see them.

Here are some images and specification sheets to keep you going until I have more details.

Bass trip is a Go Go

Probably the only window for weather over past few days and into next week and we are game on for a bass trip off the Portland races. The weather is supposed to turn early afternoon so the plan is to come inshore and fish the Shambles bank.

This is good news as I have a loads of new stock of the Eddystone eels and the Red Gill range so the plan is to get some filming done alongside showing the eels catching big bass. Well that’s the plan and sunshine is also forecast so for a December day it could be an omen for a good trip to start to close off what has been a really hot year.

So all fingers and toes crossed it will happen and I will post after the event and let you all know what the outcome of the day was.

Bad boys on Eddystone Eels

The boys at Eddystone eels sent over some images of real exotic bad boys caught in various areas of the world and some cod and coal-fish caught in British waters on their Eddystone Eels. Enjoy these images and I will be posting very soon on the launch of our ready to fish out of the bag Eddystone range with video detailing the products and early next year their new design of eel for bass.

The first image amuses me it reminds me of the days fishing out of a 12ft clinker built rowing boat with a Seagull engine on it and launching into the open sea from the beach at Reculver in Kent. But when on the occasions we returned from fishing a few hundred yards off the beach with boxes full of school bass and coddling they where great days.
